About us Nazaha

The NAZAHA project, co-funded by the European Union, and AECID; implemented by Al-Hayat Center - RASED, and Rasheed TI-JO. Our goal is to support civil society organizations and help them hold the government accountable at the local and national levels.  We promote organizational integrity, transparency, social accountability, good governance, and public participation to ensure compliance with international standards.  Our work strengthens civil society organizations' capacities, skills, and policies, fostering ethical and effective leadership and management. 

Objectives

Improving Public Participation and Transparency

  • Improve civil society access to decision making processes
  • Provide training to help municipalities develop gender-responsive budgeting procedures
  • Encourage public engagement with local authorities to foster public participation.

Enhancing Social Accountability and Integrity

  • Nazaha project supports 13 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Community Based Organizations (CBOs) in implementing local initiatives to monitor public action and encourage citizens' engagement with decision-makers. 
  • Nazaha supports 20 young people in the use of digital tools to monitor public action and encourage citizens' participation in public life.
  • Establishment of the National Integrity Index which measures the maturity of the governmental entities towards integrity.

Promoting Good Governance

Nazaha enhances Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Community Based Organizations (CBOs) governance to engage with public institutions, through a Self- Regulatory Scheme. Nazaha platform is an online hub to uphold CSOs and CBOs capacities based on a set of principles and best practices.

Outputs

Establish common standards and capacity-building programs for CSOs & CBOs, to achieve better governance.
Empower CSOs, CBOs, and youth to improve social accountability and influence policy-making processes.
Engage civil society in dialogue with public authorities through a participatory approach to voice their opinions and concerns.
